FrexGP SimConBASE The FrexGP SimConBASE is a revolutionary new product for the serious race sim racer. User Install proceeding - for SimCon Driver and motion control software [2006.09.06]
Please note - You can check
electrical, driver and software installation by checking cylinder movement
before you install to Cockpit frame or seat.
Electrical check: The SimConBASE device black box has
a RED LED on the end which should light when you connect to your 12V power
adapter.
A Solid RED LED: Means the power adapter is connected. A flashing RED LED: Means the software is installed and the PC has recognized the SimCon device. The 24V power adapter should have
a GREEN LED solid light on.
Drivers software
installation:
Download SimCon Windows USB driver from the website using the Username and Password on the bottom on the device. Unzip in a separate folder and note
down where you unzipped it.
Boot up you PC system. Check that you SimConBase RED LED
is on
Plug in the SimConBASE USB lead to
you PC, it is best to connect to a connection on the motherboard rather than a
hub.
The wizard will ask you to point its driver, Browse to the place you unzipped the driver, selecting your folder for the operating system you are using (Windows XP in most cases) Download and install v1045 from the website and unzip it into a folder, Double click the SimConBase
Setup.msi and this will install the software, placing a shortcut on the
desktop.
Reboot your PC Look at the Taskbar (Bottom Right near clock) If the SimCon icon is present, left click it to open the SimCon Software. If it is not present Click the desktop shortcut and the the taskbar
icon.
Click TEST and the cylinders should move. You can now check the movement of the cylinders by sliding the bar on cross
bar. Slide the bar Forward and Backwards, sand left and right to confirm the
correct movement.
Tips: An easy and quick method to wake up the Cylinders is, once you have clicked test a sliding bar will appear under the Tachometer section. Slide the sliding bar (dot) to hi-revs once and then back to Zero. This will send a signal to Cylinders. If the SimCon Software shows the warning message [Not found] at the top of the SimCon Software. Unplug the SimConBASE USB, wait for a few 20 seconds and reconnect it. Use Self-Powered USB HUB if the recognize problem caused by shortage of USB power. Bus-Powerd USB HUB that power supplied from PC only which handle only 100mA and it can not be connected more than one hub on same line. Self-Powered USB HUB : With AC/DC 5V power adapter it can connect many HUBs and USB devices as many as you want. Update: Quit by right mouse click small SimCon icon in Task bar. Download and unzip the file. Just click exe of update. Follow these steps if you can not succeed the update: Uninstall "FrexGP SimConBASE controller 1.0.4.3" by Windows software uninstall program. Install v1.0.4.3 and install latest update exe. Click icon on desktop. Click small icon right bottom in taskbar. Enter your usernames for each games in Gamesetting in SimCon menu. Click drag Tachometer bar on upper left in menu and activate actuators. and then Start. If it does not work properly with v1043.
Right click the SimCon icon on Windows task bar and select Quit. Go to the windows control panel and select Add and Remove
Programs.
Uninstall "Frex SimConBASE Controller " or with "SimConBASE Driver(USB Driver) Restart your PC and start again.
SimCon files are installed in
C:Program Files/FrexGP/FrexGP SimConBASE Controller by default
Please note you may have to make changes or entries to your software and
details of these are contained in the readme files with the
software.

Uninstall USB device software which no more in use.
Install USB chip controller driver from motherboard's CD-ROM or check website of the motherboard, download USB chip driver and install it.
Reboot PC.

They require a DC12V 4A capacity, AC adapter, for stable operation at high rpm and when the shift light is turned on. We recommend the use of "AutoMeter SUPER LITE" 12 LED type shift light, that will make for a stable operation, with 0.45A type AC adapter, which we recommend. AutoMeter's shift light can be reduced in brightness/watts by replacing with a 12V 21/5W double bulb for an automotive tail & stop bulb. Other 12V LED car accessory can be used for shift light but requiring additional wiring work. Do not unplug the DC power plug while connected to your PC. |
